It's official. DBS Bank's Piyush Gupta was the highest paid chief executive among local banks last year, with a pay package of about S$8.1 million.
The ranking comes after DBS rival, United Overseas Bank (UOB), yesterday released its annual report showing that its chief executive, Mr Wee Ee Cheong, earned between S$6.5 million and S$6.75 million - down 18 per cent from a year earlier.
Mr Wee's lower remuneration put him in third position after Oversea-Chinese Banking Corporation chief executive David Conner, who was paid about S$7 million last year.
