Police probe closure of car workshop Kar Engineering

The police are investigating a vehicle workshop that folded suddenly after selling warranty and service packages worth several hundred thousand dollars.

Kar Engineering closed without warning some time in November last year, leaving hundreds of customers in the lurch.

The company, registered in 2002, had been operating in Sin Ming industrial estate since 2009.

Many customers are individuals who bought warranty and maintenance packages from Kar directly. Some drive high-end cars such as Ferraris and Porsches.
