Circle Line train service delayed this morning

The start of train service along a section of the Circle Line was delayed earlier this morning.

A SMRT spokesperson said the delay of train service between Caldecott and Seragoon MRT stations - in the direction of Dhoby Ghaut - was due to additional time needed to remove an engineering vehicle that had broken down at Bishan station during maintenance hours.

To mantain service, a shuttle train service was operated between Seragoon and Caldecott stations at 5.54am, and passengers travelling beyond this stretch in either direction needed to make a transfer at Serangoon and Caldecott to continue their journey.

This lasted till around 6.22am, before normal train services resumed. Around 100 passengers at these three stations experienced delays of around 10 and 28 minutes. Announcements were made in stations to inform passengers of service delays. SMRT has apologised for the inconvenience caused.
