Arsenal 0 Sunderland 0
Arsenal missed a chance to narrow the gap on English Premier League leaders Manchester United with a 0-0 draw against Sunderland on Saturday.

It was the second time in a week the Gunners had failed to live up to expectations.

Newcastle 1 Everton 2
Newcastle took the lead when Mike Williamson turned on the edge of the box to feed Kevin Nolan whose left-foot drive was parried straight into the path of Leon Best by Tim Howard and the striker headed into an empty net for his sixth goal of the season.

Everton were soon back on level terms when Arteta was again given the freedom at St James' Park, cutting in from the left wing to pick out Leon Osman, who simply passed the ball into the bottom corner from twelve yards out.

Five minutes later and Everton had turned the game around completely, with Leighton Baines whipping in a free kick from the left and Phil Jagielka converting at the far post.http://news.bbcimg.co.uk/media/images/51538000/jpg/_51538895_011451162-1.jpg

Manchester City 1 Wigan 0
Manchester City returned to winning ways in the English Premier League thanks to a howler from Wigan's on-loan goalkeeper Ali Al-Habsi.

The Oman goalkeeper fumbled David Silva's first-half strike into the net to gift the three points to the Blues and leave the Latics rock-bottom on the table.http://img.thesun.co.uk/multimedia/archive/01265/m05_12_682x400_1265329a.jpg

Liverpool 3 Manchester United 1
The remarkable result, just days after the Premier League leaders were beaten 2-1 at Chelsea, leaves Sir Alex Ferguson's side only three points ahead of second-placed Arsenal and with a game more played.

To make matters worse, Manchester United lost key winger Nani to injury and were ripped apart by a Liverpool side inspired by Dutchman Kuyt and Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez, only scoring themselves through Javier Hernandez in the very last minute.

Suarez helped set up the first two goals for his team-mate after 34 and 39 minutes before Kuyt bundled home a third in the 65th minute after Steven Gerrard's free-kick had been saved.

Wolves 3 Tottenham 3
Wolves' wing play set out to expose Heurelho Gomes' vulnerability at claiming crosses, and sure enough, on 20 minutes, Spurs fell behind to just such a move as Doyle found a yard of space between the Tottenham goalkeeper and his defence to flick home Nenad Milijas' pinpoint cross from the right.

Tottenham showed their class by weathering the storm to hit back with two pieces of clinical finishing from Defoe.

First, the England striker curled a sumptuous shot beyond a full-stretched Wayne Hennessey to level matters and bettered it soon after with a top corner finish from 25 yards out.

That lead evaporated within five minutes as Doyle sent Gomes the wrong way with a penalty after Alan Hutton had tugged the arm of Milijas in the area.

With many debating whether Hutton's yellow card warranted more severe punishment, Spurs made Wolves pay by regaining the lead just three minutes after the restart as some hesitant defending allowed Pavlyuchenko time to slam home another impressive long-range finish.

US Navy commandos capture 4 suspected pirates in raid on tanker

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates — Anti-piracy officials say U.S. commandos have captured four suspected pirates who boarded a Japanese-owned oil tanker off the coast of Oman.

A statement by the international anti-piracy task force says the 24 crew members on the MV Guanabara took refuge in a protected part of the vessel after reporting they were under attack Saturday.

A special unit from the destroyer USS Bulkeley boarded the tanker Sunday and detained the suspected pirates about 328 nautical miles southeast of Duqm in southern Oman.

The statement said no shots were fired and the merchant crew was not harmed.

The Bulkeley is part of an Bahrain-based multinational flotilla fighting piracy from Somalia.
