Yishun Housebreaker Arrested

On 29 September 2011, a 21 year-old student reported that his computer laptop valued about $1200 had gone missing from the living room of his residence at Blk 173 Yishun Avenue 7.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect could have accessed the premises via its unsecured grill gate and stolen the laptop.

Upon receiving the report, officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division conducted extensive ground enquiries and managed to establish the identity of the suspect.

On 30 September 2011 at about 3.15 pm, the suspect, a 26 year-old male Malay, was arrested at his residence along Yishun Ring Road.

The suspect will be charged in Court 26 on 1 October 2011 for Housebreaking and Theft by Day under Section 454 of the Penal code Chapter 224 which carries a maximum of 10 years imprisonment.
