Some 5,570 passengers were affected by a service disruption on the North-South Line on Monday morning.
An SMRT spokesman said a southbound train between Ang Mo Kio and Bishan stations experienced a fault at about 10.30am, and was taken out of service. To maintain the service, some northbound trains were turned around at Toa Payoh station.
The southbound service resumed at 11.10am, the spokesman said.
The faulty train had to be hauled back to Bishan Depot via Ang Mo Kio station. This delayed a northbound train with about 1,800 passengers on board by about an hour, although some got off at Bishan station. Overall, more than 5,000 people were affected by delays.
