Presentation of State Insignia to SPF's 6th UNPKF

Minister of State for Home Affairs and Foreign Affairs, Mr Masagos Zulkifli, presented the state insignia on 17 October 2011 to the Singapore Police Force's contingent of 8 United Nations Peacekeeping Force (UNPKF) officers who will be embarking on a UN Integrated Mission in Timor-Leste (UNMIT).

The group, led by Contingent Commander, Acting Superintendent of Police Lee Li Ping, will leave Singapore on 25 October 2011 for a one-year tour of duty in Timor-Leste.

This will be the 6th SPF Contingent sent to Timor-Leste since the inaugural batch in 2006. The 6th SPF Contingent will consist of 10 officers, including two officers who are currently based in Timor-Leste, whose services have been extended.

The Contingent will continue to uphold the mandate of maintaining law and order, training and strengthening the Policia Nacional de Timor-Leste (PNTL).
