Man sought to assist in police investigations of animal cruelty

Police are looking for the man shown in the above photo to assist in investigations into a case of animal cruelty that took place at Changi Beach Park on May 15 at about 7.55am.

The man is believed to be Malay, in his 30s to 40s, with long curly hair, and was seen wearing a light blue long-sleeved shirt and long pants.

He allegedly hit a cockatoo with a stone and a passerby who saw the act alerted the police.

Anyone with information on the man is requested to call the Police Hotline at 1800-255-0000. All information will be kept strictly confidential.

Future cases of animal cruelty may be reported to the Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA) at ava_cawc@ava.gov.sg. All sources of information will be kept strictly confidential.

Anyone charged in court and found guilty of animal cruelty can be fined up to $10,000 or jailed up to 12 months, or both.
