600 dogs brutally killed in illegal slaughterhouse

It was reported that some 600 dogs were brutally killed at an illegal slaughterhouse in Guangdong, China, in the span of 20 days.

Forty-six carcasses were found in the premises near Yingde City, 20 without fur.

The slaughterhouse was discovered following reports of pet dogs going missing.

Local police found that the premises, which also operated as a dog meat processing plant, had sold more than 8,000kg of meat for more than 120,000 renminbi (S$24,402).

Six men were arrested to help in the investigations.
