The government is beefing up its Pods Youth Mentoring programme, an initiative where youths help to support their peers who're completing their rehabilitation programmes.

Minister of State for Community Development, Youth & Sports, Halimah Yacob said based on experience and feedback, some youths require more intensive support even after one year of mentoring.

So the Podz agency coordinator will now provide case management to the youth and family on a need basis. And for cases that require a longer mentoring period, the one-year programme can be extended for up to six months.
