Malaysian hooligans deface S'pore flag: So, why are we rejoining Malaysia Cup?

In what seems to be another unsporting reaction from Malaysian football fans following their national squad's elimination from the qualifying series of World Cup 2014, a group of them was photographed holding up a defaced Singapore flag, with the word 'Looser' sprayed on it.

The Malaysian squad's hopes of making it to the World Cup were dashed after they were defeated by the Singapore Lions 5-3 in their first meeting, and drew 1-1 in the second leg of the World Cup qualifying match on Thursday night (Jul 28).

During the match on Thursday, a Malaysian fan tried to blind Singapore's goalkeeper by pointing a green laser pointer at him.

The Malaysian captain also made disparaging comments about the Lions prior to their second meeting, saying that they are "nothing without foreign players".

Then in an article published in Malaysia's Sinar Harian, the Malaysians claimed that the Singapore players were play acting, and that they are worse than well-known 'divers' like Cristiano Ronaldo.
