The “Wash Upon a Wish” fundraising event was held on Saturday 23rd October 2010 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It was organised by volunteers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division HQ, or 'F' division, with the help of officers from Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) fire stations and the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) in the Northern Sector. It is the sixth year the organisers have collaborated with the Make-a-Wish Foundation to help the less fortunate.
Major Ernest Ong, Commander Ang Mo Kio Fire Station, whose team of SCDF officers volunteered to hose down and wash cars, said, “Although the guys are after 24 hours (duty), we're all glad to be here, doing our part for charity. And it's a good event because we get to work hand-in-hand with our counterparts (in the Home Team Northern Sector) as well.

A leading volunteer and organiser, Superintendent (Supt) Manimaran, Deputy Commander Ang Mo Kio Police Division HQ, said, “What we want to inculcate in our officers is a sense of serving from the heart. That's how you really learn how to serve society well.”
