SINGAPORE: Record three-time World Cup winner Pele arrived in Singapore on Wednesday to kick off The New York Cosmos Asia Promotional Tour 2011. This is the third time the Brazilian icon has visited Singapore.
Hailed by many as the greatest player in the history of football, the 70-year-old flew into Changi Airport before New York Cosmos' director of soccer, Eric Cantona, arrived.
Pele, the club's honorary president, and the Manchester United legend are in town courtesy of Courts and will be here until Sunday promoting the team and meeting fans at various activities.
The duo will watch the Courts Young Lions take on Geylang United at Jalan Besar Stadium in an S.League clash on Thursday night.
