SINGAPORE - A lorry driver died at the wheel after suffering a heart-attack while driving, causing his vehicle to crash into a road divider.
The vehicle also pinned an old woman underneath the wheels.
Citizen journalism website STOMP reported that the accident happened at Block 474 near Pasir Ris Drive 6 at 9.05 am today.
Shin Min Daily News reported that the lorry had continued moving forward and swerved suddenly even after crashing into the road divider. It is believed that the driver's leg was still on the accelerator.The driver was extricated from the wreck by Singapore Civil Defence Force officers. He was bleeding heavily. SCDF officers later covered him with cloth and pronounced him dead at 9.20am.
The old woman was later sent to Changi General Hospital by the Singapore Civil Defence Force. She suffered fractures to her legs.
