Fire at Tuas chemical plant

A FIRE broke out at a chemical factory in Gul Lane, Tuas, at about 10.40am on Monday.

Fire fighters from the Singapore Civil Defence Force are using foam to try and contain the blaze at Isochem International, which specialises in the manufacture of maintenance products for industries and household.

SCDF despatched six fire engines, two fire bikes and two ambulances to the factory.

Thick black smoke was seen belching from the factory and workers were asked to stay at least two metres away from the area as a safety precaution. LINK
