WANTED: 'Heartbeat' molester

POLICE are looking for a man to assist with investigations into a recent series of outrage of modesty cases.

The cases date as far back as 1999. The Straits Times understands that the culprit is believed to be linked to more than 20 cases of outrage of modesty of girls aged between eight and 12.

The suspect is believed to have struck again recently. He typically approaches his victims at void decks or lift lobbies when the victims are alone and pretend to be lost and ask for directions. He would then lead his victims to a staircase landing where he would strike.

His signature move is to request for his victims to feel his heartbeat by claiming that his heart is weak. He then molests them.

Most of the cases have happened in the north-eastern part of Singapore, usually on weekdays afternoon between 12.30pm and 4.30pm. He usually wears dark shades when committing the crime.

Police believe the man is a male Chinese in his 30s, about 1.7m tall and has short black hair. Anyone with information should call the police hotline at 1800-2550000. LINK
