Sunday's Nike City 10K run will go on unless PSI exceeds 200

SINGAPORE : The organiser of this Sunday's Nike City 10K run has said the race will go on unless the PSI level exceeds 200 or the National Environment Agency (NEA) advises otherwise.

A PSI level between 201 and 300 is considered very unhealthy.

12,000 people have signed up for this Sunday's race, which will see participants running through the Marina Promenade and Formula 1 race track.

The event organiser, HiVelocity, said that should the PSI level exceed 100, which is in the unhealthy range, participants with existing heart or respiratory ailments are advised not to take part in the race.

It outlined these instructions in a race guide book, which was distributed to all participants a week ago.

Surgical masks will be provided to participants who request for them and two ambulances will be on standby in case of any medical emergencies.

The organiser also stated that it would be sending SMS alerts to participants with updates on whether the race would continue. Alternatively, participants can also log onto the official race site, www.nikerunning.com.sg, for more information. LINK
