Muis tightens rules for haj

MUSLIMS who register for the haj but reject the place given to them twice in a row will have their names removed from the waiting list.

They will also have to pay a $50 administrative fee to the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (Muis), which manages the haj waiting list.

The new move, which comes into force on Oct 8, is to stop the disruption some would-be pilgrims cause by holding on to their place on the register. MORE
