Carroll on song as Newcastle edge West Ham
After making the news for an alleged attack on his girlfriend, Newcastle's England wannabe Andy Carroll grabbed some positive headlines Saturday, heading in the winner in a come-from-behind 2-1 success at West Ham.
The Hammers remain stuck to the bottom of the English Premier League after this latest reverse with just six points from nine games while the Magpies rose from sixteenth position at start of play to ninth after a second success on their travels following an earlier win at Everton.
Chelsea moves five points clear as Tottenham grabs draw
Chelsea opened up a five-point gap at the top of the English Premier League here Saturday, goals from Florent Malouda and Salomon Kalou goal wrapping up a 2-0 victory over Wolves.
Elmander salvages point for Bolton
Swedish international striker Johan Elmander's fifth goal of the season ensured Bolton grabbed a 1-1 draw with Wigan in their Premier League clash on Saturday.
Elmander's 66th minute goal cancelled out Hugo Rodallega's 59th minute effort that saw both sides maintain their recent run of good form.
