THE HAGUE: PSV inflicted a 10-0 drubbing on Feyenoord in the Dutch league on Sunday, the worst defeat in the latter club's long history in the Eredivisie.
The 10 goals were scored between the 24 and 87th minutes by six different players, notably Jonathan Reis, who scored a hat-trick against a side reduced to 10 men when Kelvin Leerdam was sent off in the 34th minute.
Feyenoord's previous worst defeat was an 8-2 loss to Ajax in 1983, while PSV have twice before hit 10 goals in a match, against the Go Ahead Eagles and FC Volendam in 1973 and 1998 respectively.
Rampant Arsenal rout 10-man City
Arsenal underlined their credentials as serious contenders for the Premier League title with an emphatic 3-0 win against 10-man Manchester City on Sunday.
Arsene Wenger's side arrived at Eastlands with a miserable record in recent games against English football's leading teams, but they proved they can win when the stakes are highest thanks to goals from Samir Nasri, Alex Song and Nicklas Bendtner.
The Gunners took full advantage when City defender Dedryck Boyata was sent off after just four minutes and are now in second place - five points behind leaders Chelsea.
Liverpool beat Blackburn to ease pressure on Hodgson
Roy Hodgson earned a stay of execution as Liverpool defeated Blackburn 2-1 on Sunday to secure their first win in six Premier League games.
Fernando Torres claimed the winner in a second-half spell which brought three goals in the space of five frantic minutes.
