Baby dies after abuse by Indonesian maid

SERDANG - A 15-MONTH-OLD baby died after being allegedly abused by a maid.

It is learnt that the incident occurred at 4pm last Friday when a relative found the only child unconscious in his Puchong home.

The 25-year-old Indonesian maid was believed to have called the victim's father to tell him that his son had fallen ill and was unconscious. The father, a businessman, asked his relative who lived nearby to rush his son to a private hospital.

However, baby Tan Jin Yang was pronounced dead upon arrival... police discovered several elements of foul play.

It is learnt that the child had strangulation marks on his neck; suffered internal brain haemorrhage and had bruises believed to be from being kicked or stepped upon as well as lung infection.

'We've re-classified the case under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder... We are on the lookout for the maid to help in investigations,' said Supt Abdul Razak. MORE
