AMP’s Ready for School Fund, launched in October 2002, was first set up with the main objective of assisting children from disadvantaged families who are starting kindergarten, primary and secondary school. It was later extended to assist all school-going children under the Adopt a Family & Youth Scheme in their educational pursuit.

In June 2007, the Learning Vision – AMP Education Fund, which assists low-income families in the payment of their children’s monthly child care or preschool fees and the primary school miscellaneous fees, was consolidated under the Ready for School Fund, with the support of Learning Vision International Pte Ltd.

The Fund was then extended to include all disadvantaged school-going children of all races. Other than school essentials, the Fund is also used to subsidise school and tuition fees, conduct enrichment programmes, provide assistance with transportation expenses and other financial assistance.

Through the Ready for School Fund, AMP hopes to ensure that no child is left behind in their pursuit of education and each has an opportunity at excelling in their academic endeavours. The Fund also enables the students to continue their education beyond the compulsory basic education, which will prepare them in meeting the challenges of globalisation and enable them to remain competitive in this rapidly changing economy.
