Three males, aged between 14 and 18, have been arrested for a case of snatch theft along Petir Road on Sunday (Oct 26).

At about 7am, the three suspects approached two other males at the void deck of Block 225 Petir Road, offering to sell them a mobile phone. After one of them took out cash, the suspects pushed him, snatched the money, and fled in different directions.

A member of the public heard the victims shouting and helped detain the 18-year-old suspect at Block 217. The suspect was subsequently handed over to the police. The stolen cash, amounting to S$80, was also recovered.

The other two suspects were arrested on Monday. All three will be charged in court on Tuesday. If convicted, they face up to seven years' prison and may be caned.
