Theresa Goh wins first medal for Singapore at Asian Para Games

Team Singapore para-swimmer Theresa Goh won Singapore's first medal at the Asian Para Games 2014 in Incheon, South Korea on Sunday (Oct 19). She took the bronze in the women's 100m breaststroke, clocking 2 minutes 16.19 seconds.

Chinese Taipei won the gold while Japan claimed the silver. Ms Goh said she was honoured to win Singapore's first medal. She added that the team will work hard and do their best for the entire duration of the Games.

Singapore has sent its biggest contingent to the Games, with 53 athletes competing in 11 sports -athletics, badminton, boccia, football seven-a-side, hand-cycling, lawn bowls, sailing, shooting, swimming, table tennis and tenpin bowling.
