Merlion statues to be cleaned from Friday

If you are planning to take pictures with the Merlion statues at Merlion Park this weekend, you might want to take note - the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) said both statues will undergo cleaning from Sep 5 to 10.

In an advisory sent on Wednesday (Sep 3), the STB said the main Merlion statue will be hoarded up and unavailable for photo-taking while the cleaning is in progress. The water feature of both statues will also be switched off.

"We seek the public's understanding as the works and barricades may cause some inconvenience during this period," STB said.
