IKEA Singapore has urged all its customers who have a Gunggung children’s swing to return it to any of its stores for a full refund in a worldwide recall of the product due to safety concerns.
In a statement released yesterday, the Swedish furniture company said it received reports of the suspension fitting on the swing breaking.
This shows that the product does not meet IKEA quality requirements and poses a risk of serious injury.
The company said it has received four reports of the suspension fittings breaking on the children’s swing.
No such case has yet been reported to IKEA in Singapore.
A total of 87 sets of the swing have been sold here since April 1. Sales were stopped last month while investigations were being conducted, said IKEA, in response to queries.
The swing can be returned at any IKEA store for a full refund. Proof of purchase is not needed. Customers can contact IKEA at 6786 6868 for more information.
