Arsenal target Carlos Vela says he has an 'irresistible' offer to keep him in Spain
Carlos Vela has told Real Sociedad he has received an "irresistible" offer from Atletico Madrid, according to Spanish newspaper Marca.
The 25-year-old has been linked with a return to Arsenal this summer, having been on the books for seven years before being sold to Sociedad in 2012.
The Gunners inserted a buy-back clause in Vela's contract, meaning they can take him back to the Emirates for a meagre £3.3million.
However, they now look set for a battle to land the Mexican with La Liga champions Atletico Madrid.
Fernando's Manchester City switch to be completed this week
Manchester City expect to complete Fernando's switch to the Etihad this week.
City are believed to have agreed an initial fee of £12million with Porto for the midfielder with another £4million in add-ons.
The Brazilian-born Fernando, who has switched national allegiance to Portugal, is due in Manchester for a medical and to finalise personal terms.
The Blues have been tracking the 26-year-old Fernando for the best part of a year and tried to land him in January.
Boss Manuel Pellegrini feels he will take some of the burden off central midfield pair Yaya Toure and Fernandinho.
Arsenal handed Alvaro Morata transfer boost
Arsene Wenger has been given the green light to sign long standing target Alvaro Morata.
Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has admitted they will allow Morata to leave to try and help the Spanish under-21 striker get more regular games.
Ancelotti said: "The player wants to play more minutes and the club agrees.
"If he could find the chance of playing it would be good that he had the chance for a year.
Arsenal, Chelsea, Man U, Man City and Liverpool in 5-horse race for Fab's signature
Cesc Fabregas looks all-but-certain to leave Barcelona this summer.
And the Premier League's top dogs are all seemingly battling it out to get him.
Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool have all been credited with an interest in the 27-year-old.
But just where is he going?
With Gerard Pique letting slip - on purpose or by accident - that a €33m deal is done, it seems only a matter of where rather than whether it'll happen or not.
Reports in Spain suggest it is now Chelsea who are moving to the front of the queue.
Mario Mandzukic puts Arsenal and Chelsea on high alert
Mario Mandzukic has put Arsenal and Chelsea on alert after declaring he wants to quit Bayern Munich.
Mandzukic has gone public with his unhappiness at Bayern, saying he can no longer work under boss Pep Guardiola.
Mandzukic, 28, says he has told Bayern he wants out, even though the Croatia striker still has two years left on his contract at the Allianz Arena.
Arsenal and Chelsea could now pounce and both have been watching Mandzukic.
Alberto Moreno Liverpool transfer stalls
Liverpool are ready to play hard ball over their number one defensive target Alberto Moreno.
The Reds have refused to be dragged into an auction for the Spanish international left back, and contrary to reports in Seville, have NOT agreed any fee for the 21 year old.
Instead, boss Brendan Rodgers is prepared to look elsewhere, after flatly refusing to meet Sevilla's inflated asking price of £18m for the inexperienced full back.
Newcastle ready to clinch French striker Bafetimbi Gomis
Newcastle are ready to clinch the signing of French striker Bafetimbi Gomis with a £4million-a-year contract.
The big target man has been in Toon’s sights for years but on Sunday night they were closing in on a swoop ahead of newly-promoted Queens Park Rangers.
QPR chief Harry Redknapp thought he had signed the French star with a £70,000-a-week tempter, but Newcastle are going higher.
Gomis has been offered stunning terms at the end of his stay with Lyon. And he is swaying towards moving to Tyneside.
Owner Mike Ashley is keen as Gomis is a free agent after previous big-money bids for him failed last summer.
