The Ang Mo Kio Polyclinic, one of Singapore’s busiest, is set to get a new home — one with more facilities, which will be ready to serve residents in the area by early 2018.

A new polyclinic, built to replace the current one at Ang Mo Kio Avenue 8, will have better facilities, more services and a focus on chronic disease management as well as health promotion.

It will also better meet the needs of the ageing and growing population in the area, with an eldercare centre co-located at the polyclinic.

Said Health Minister Gan Kim Yong: “The centre will provide both health services, such as rehabilitation services and social care services, such as day care services, for frail elderly residents living in the area. Working caregivers will also have peace of mind as their loved ones can be taken care of at the centre during the day and be back at home with them later in the evening after work.”

The current clinic will be operational until the new facilities — which will be nearby — are ready.

More details on plans for the clinic will be made available at a later stage and residents will be kept updated. Construction is likely to begin in the second half of next year.
