Eliaquim Mangala reluctant about Man City move, prefers United

Manchester City are prepared to pay France defender Eliaquim Mangala’s £36.5m release clause at Porto to pair him with skipper Vincent Kompany but their No.1 target has told friends that he would rather join Manchester United or Chelsea.

The France star, 23, is reluctant to agree to the move because he feels United and Chelsea are bigger clubs.
However, United are understood to have reservations about his temperament and he is not high on Louis van Gaal’s hitlist.

Chelsea are a more realistic destination and Jose Mourinho does like Mangala.
