Blue on blue feud in Florida takes a nasty turn

Things have really gone into, or in this case, out of the toilet for at least one Florida Highway Patrol trooper's cruiser.

According to the FHP, trooper Joe Sanchez, who was once a Miami City Commissioner, found his patrol car had been vandalized by having what is believed to be human feces spread across his car. Hazmat crews had to clean it up.

The incident happened sometime between 6:45 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. last Saturday morning.

Speculation is that the incident might have had something to do with the growing inter-agency feud between the FHP and Miami Police.

Just a few weeks ago, an FHP Trooper pulled over and handcuffed a Miami Police officer who was off duty and speeding to a second job in his police cruiser. Ever since then, a rift has opened up between the two law enforcement agencies.

Sources in law enforcement tell CBS4 that Miami street cops are furious that FHP pulled over a brother behind a badge.

At this point no one has been busted for committing the dirty deed.

Background story:
Trooper Donna Watts arrested Miami Officer Fausto Lopez early on the morning of October 11th.  Her dashboard camera recorded the Miami officer, in a marked police car, blowing past her and other traffic on the Florida Turnpike.

When the trooper got the cop stopped, she approached his car with her gun drawn, ordered him out, and handcuffed him behind his back.  Lopez said he was rushing to get to an off-duty job in Hollywood, according to the arrest report.

Trooper Watts told her superiors she didn't know who she was dealing with in the pursuit that lasted seven minutes and went twelve miles.

She thought the police car might have been stolen or carjacked, given that it kept going despite her blue lights and siren being on.

In the audio from the trooper's dashboard camera she can be heard lecturing the police officer for endangering the public, and described his behavior as common to Miami officers in particular.
