Pioneers with moderate to severe functional disability will receive $100 each month from September as part of the Pioneer Generation Package.
Those who qualify for the Pioneer Generation Disability Assistance Scheme (PioneerDAS) can sign up from July 1.
To qualify, pioneers have to undergo an assessment - which can be carried out by registered doctors, nurses, physiotherapists or occupational therapists - to determine that they permanently require help with at least three out of six daily activities.
These activities are showering, dressing, eating, using the toilet, transferring from a chair to a bed (or vice versa), as well as walking on a level surface.
PioneerDAS will be handled by an agency under the Ministry of Health called the Agency for Integrated Care (AIC).
The Pioneer Generation Package - which was announced by the government earlier this year - is applicable to those aged 65 and above this year who became Singapore citizens before 1987.
