A Bakersfield family posted a video on YouTube Wednesday morning of the family cat saving a boy from a dog attack.
The 56-second video from surveillance cameras showed the boy riding his bike Tuesday when the dog attacked him. The cat immediately charged out and scared off the much-larger dog.
Not only that. After it had successfully chased away the much larger dog, the cat immediately fell back into a defensive position, in case the threat returns.
The boy suffered bite wounds, but his family said he's going to be OK.
"My cat defends my son during a vicious dog attack and runs the dog off before he can do additional damage. Thankfully, my son is fine!" uploader Roger Triantafilo wrote with the YouTube video.
In another article, the cat has been identified as 'Tara'. Here's more:
While riding his bike up the driveway, 4-year-old Jeremy was attacked by the neighbor's dog... what could have been a serious encounter was quickly cut short as the family's cat, Tara, comes storming in to scare the daylights out of the dog and chase it away.
Thanks to Tara, Jeremy only needed a few stitches. The dog is now under surveillance with Animal Control for 10 days, then it will be euthanized.
