The Central Youth Guidance Office, which is an inter-ministry setup, has come up with a programme aimed at teenagers to reduce youth delinquency.
Youth Go!, introduced in the North East and North West districts in 2012, helps teenagers turn over a new leaf.
Social workers will approach those who have dropped out of school or are unemployed.
This service is provided four times a week, in which two days are from evening till midnight.
About 400 youths have been helped in the past two years, with most of them having returned home, started studying or even taking up courses such as cooking and hair dressing.
"Youth Go! is different because we actually go out into the streets to get to know these youths and bring the services to them, and let them know of practical needs and help and even to refer them to appropriate resources," said Wong Ying Li, a youth team leader.
The Social and Family Development Ministry said it will review the results of the programme and may expand it, if needed.
