Singaporeans' biggest fear about ageing is not having enough money for their medical care, but even then, they are generally more confident than their peers in the region about having personal savings and investments as their primary source of income in retirement.
A global survey by Nielsen done online has found out that 58 per cent of Singaporean consumers worry about covering their medical bills.
Next on their list - at just one and two percentage points lower respectively - were their worries about losing their ability to care for basic needs and losing their physical agility.
More than three-quarters (78 per cent) of Singapore respondents said that they plan to draw on personal savings and investments as their main income stream in their retirement years.
