Singapore Turf Club (STC) said in a statement on Wednesday that a man, who looked like he was almost trampled over by horses in a race video, is “unhurt”.
It further said that the man, who is a staff member of trainer Leslie Khoo Peng Ann, was attending to a horse named Sky Empathy just before the race started.
The race took place at 5:30pm at Singapore Racecourse in Kranji on Sunday. The horse was standing behind barrier gate six.
The staff member, who was seen wearing a pink top, was crawling out from under a gate and wanted to walk out of the track. However, the man did not leave in time and was still there when the race started.
As soon as the gates opened, the horses dashed out, causing the man to fall onto the ground.
After the incident, he picked himself up and walked away “unhurt”, said STC, who issued the statement after receiving a “large amount of interest” over the incident. The video has been widely shared on social media.
STC will hold an inquiry regarding the circumstances that had led to the incident, at a later date.
