It is never too early to start the Lunar New Year celebrations.

Red and gold were the dominant colours in Chinatown on Saturday night, after President Tony Tan Keng Yam launched this year's light-up.

The main attractions are life-sized, horse-shaped lanterns.

Visitors will find more than 170 of them along Chinatown at New Bridge Road and Eu Tong Sen Street in keeping with this year's theme of “Galloping to Prosperity.”
