Orchard Road has never been as dirty as it is now.

Cigarette butts, plastic bags, paper and balloon shreds can be seen on the pavement close to the flower beds outside Ngee Ann City. And there are far too much bird droppings on both sides of the road.

There is no point trying to make Orchard Road look attractive if basic cleanliness is not addressed in the manner that it was previously.

Also, the escalators to the underpass at Scotts Road have not been accessible for some time. Pedestrians have to walk through a long maze and climb flights of stairs before they can get to the other side of the road. No thought has been given to mothers with prams and small children, elderly and infirm folk, and disabled people who need to get across.

In addition, much construction work has been going on in the Orchard-Cairnhill area. At times, this has caused traffic congestion and noise pollution.

Finally, the current blue and white theme for Christmas decorations in Orchard Road makes the area look cold and "distant". Please bring back the red, green and gold theme in future, for its warmth and friendly ambience.
