National Taxi Association to get more relief drivers on the road

Commuters can expect better availability of taxis if plans by the National Taxi Association to get more relief drivers on the road take shape.

The association said on Friday that it will pilot a 'matching' session in the first quarter of next year to help match hirers and relief drivers.

The association will approach the various taxi operators to participate in the session.

It was responding to LTA's comments issued earlier Friday on suggestions submitted earlier by the association to improve taxi availability.

Going forward, he said the association will focus on exploring ways to "make every taxi work harder".
