NTUC Media, a co-operative of the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC), will be shut down by the end of the year.
It was decided that another social enterprise, NTUC Link, is in a better position than NTUC Media to undertake publications such as NTUC This Week, Lifestyle and Sheng Huo going forward, leveraging on NTUC Link's resources and access to the 1.5 million Plus! membership base.
A full-service publishing and events management agency, the majority of NTUC Media's 40 staff members will be offered jobs with NTUC Link.
Channel NewsAsia understands staff will receive one month's pay for every year of service with the company.
NTUC Link will take on publications by NTUC Media from 1 January 2014, as the latter exits the business by 31 December 2013.
