English Premier League champions Manchester United on Thursday reported record revenue of 98.5 million pounds ($158.3 million, 117.5 million euros) for the first three months of their financial year.

The 29 per cent rise in revenue was fuelled by a 63 per cent jump in sponsorship income and increased earnings from TV deals.

The Premier League deal has seen United's broadcasting income rise by 40.9 per cent, but the real driver has been the club's growth in commercial income of 62.6 per cent.

Twelve new sponsorship deals have been signed, including a global contract with Russian airline Aeroflot.

United are controlled by the US-based Glazer family.
