Newly-appointed Singapore coach Bernd Stange has raised a few eyebrows after including former Singapore captain Indra Sahdan Daud as well as 17-year-old Adam Swandi, who is currently on the youth ranks of French club Metz, in his first-ever squad.
Stange, who was named as the Lions new boss earlier this month, announced 23 players for the upcoming friendlies against Myanmar and Laos on Monday.
Apart from them, there are no real surprises as a majority of the players called up are from Malaysia Super League leaders LIONSXII, including skipper Shahril Ishak, centre-back Baihakki Khaizan and midfielders Hariss Harun and Isa Halim.
Warriors FC and Tampines Rovers are the best represented Great Eastern-YEO's S.League sides with three players apiece, while there's also berths for Tanjong Pagar United winger Hafiz Nor and Woodlands Wellington defensive duo Shariff Samat and Rosman Sulaiman, who are all enjoying excellent seasons.
