The registration exercise for admission to the Ministry of Education’s (MOE) pilot kindergartens next year will start on Monday and run until April 19.

April 8 to 12 - MOE Kindergarten @ Dazhong and MOE Kindergarten @ Punggol View

April 15 to 19 - MOE Kindergarten @ Blangah Rise, MOE Kindergarten @ Farrer Park and MOE Kindergarten @ Tampines

The registration for the Tampines kindergarten will be held at Dunman Secondary School. For the other kindergartens, registration will be at the primary schools they are attached to.

Registration is open from 1 to 5pm at all locations.

Children who are Singapore citizens and permanent residents (PR) born between Jan 2, 2009, and Jan 1, 2010, are eligible to apply. There will be 120 places at each of the kindergartens located in primary schools, while the one in Tampines will have 80 places.

The MOE reiterated that registration is not on a first-come-first-served basis. One-third of the places will be reserved for Singaporean children from households with gross household incomes not exceeding S$3,500 per month or per capita income not exceeding S$875 per month, who live within 1km of the kindergarten.

Any remaining vacancies will first go to other Singaporean children, and those remaining after that will be for PR children. Parents will be notified by post of the registration outcome by May 3.

The originals and photocopies of the child’s birth certificate and the parents’ NRICs are required for registration. Parents seeking priority admission based on income need to bring their latest income statement or a letter from their employers certifying their salaries, as well as those of other household members.

PR parents must bring along their child’s birth certificate, entry or re-entry permit and their own permits if they do not have a Singapore NRIC.

For more information, parents can visit http://www.moekindergarten.edu.sg or call the MOE Customer Service Centre at 6872 2220 (Mondays to Fridays: 8am to 6pm, Saturdays: 8am to 1pm) or email the MOE at contact@moe.gov.sg.
