The big winners of match day 6 were Young Women, and it was not because of their margin of victory over Winchester FC.
A modest 2-0 win over the latter was sufficient for Young Women to capitalize on a 1-1 draw between Arion Football Academy and Middle Rangers FC to move up to second in the Women's Premier League table.
Meanwhile, Police Sports Association hung on to their spot at the top after recording a narrow 2-1 victory over Jollilads Arsenal FC. The ladies of Petra FC also picked up their first win of the season, downing Nanyang Polytechnic 2-0 to head into their league break on a high.
There will be no such luxury for Nanyang, who face the daunting prospect of a visit to current leaders Police on match day 7. Second-from-bottom Winchester will be looking forward to their game against Warriors FC over the weekend, as it presents them with the opportunity to displace their upcoming rivals in sixth spot.
The situation is a similar one in the top half of the table, with Arion bidding to claim second place by recording a victory over Young Women at Springfield Secondary School.
