Elderly pedestrian injured in accident involving bus at Upper Boon Keng Rd this morning

A pedestrian in his 50s was injured in an accident on Monday morning involving an SBS bus.

The accident happened at the junction of Upper Boon Keng Road and Geylang Lorong 1 before 7am.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force said the man was found trapped under the bus.

He suffered multiple injuries and was sent to Tan Tock Seng Hospital in a conscious state.

SBS Transit's senior vice president for corporate communications, Ms Tammy Tan, said the SBS Transit's primary focus now is to assist the pedestrian the best it can.

SBS Transit personnel visited him in hospital and are in touch with the pedestrian's family.

The public bus operator is assisting the police with their investigations.
