Thanks to DBS’s initiative to engage the local community, Singaporeans will now have the chance to see Singapore’s stunning skyline by sailing along the waters of Marina Bay.

The bank purchased eight sailboats to ferry members of the public for a 30-minute boat ride around the Bay area. Each boat can hold up to four people (excluding the sailor), and the rides are limited to adults and children aged seven and above.

The rides are free, and will be held every last Saturday of the month from April to November from 2pm to 6pm. Members of the public will also get to board the rides from the pontoon at Marina Bay City Gallery, which is near the DBS global headquarters at the Marina Bay area – one of the buildings that the public can pick out from the skyline during their ride.

The initiative is part of the bank's continuing efforts to enliven the Bay, and share the vibrancy and dynamism of Singapore's new financial downtown with a wider population.

This activity will dip into the SGD10 million dollar fund that the bank has set aside for community involvement at the Bay for three years. It hopes that the program will reach out to 2,000 people.

At time of writing, the tickets for both May and April have been fully taken up. The tickets for June will be released on 29 April at 10am (Singapore Time).

Tickets for subsequent months will be released two months prior to the sail dates.

The public is advised to dress comfortably during the trips and use suitable footwear. The use of shades, caps and sun screen is also advised.

Participants must be 7 years old and above and posses basic water confidence.
