The fire at Tanoto Shipyard in Jurong may have claimed a life.

The fire occurred on Tuesday night and a body was recovered from the waters nearby on Friday.

The Maritime and Port Authority (MPA) added that suspected human remains have also been recovered on Friday evening from a half sunken vessel.

Police are investigating the unnatural death.

Three people were unaccounted for after the incident at the shipyard.

MPA said the search and rescue operation is still ongoing.
