HDB’s Cool Ideas initiative: 100 suggestions received

The Housing and Development Board (HDB) has received more than 100 ideas on how to improve living in its estates from emails and Facebook.

The suggestions relate to the board’s Cool Ideas initiative two years ago to challenge residents to come up with out-of-the-box ideas.

This year, issues such as rainwater splashing along common areas and corridors, unattended cooking at home and household recycling are being looked into.

The topics were based on the feedback gathered at the Cool Ideas Exhibition last year.

HDB will study the ideas generated carefully to see if they are safe and cost-effective, and scalable in new and existing flats.
