The coroner's inquiry into the death of American researcher Shane Todd will start on May 13.
Last June, 31-year-old Dr Todd was found hanged in his Singapore apartment in what appeared to be suicide.
His parents, however, believe he was murdered over work he had done while employed by Singapore's Institute of Microelectronics.
The in-chambers coroner's mention is an opportunity for Counsel to present their findings to the state coroner and for the coroner to decide if he needs more information so investigations should continue, or if he should decide on a date for the inquiry, which will be held in open court.
"A coroner's mention is like a pre-trial conference. It is not a hearing of the substantial matters and generally only deals with administrative issues. The substantive matters will be dealt with at the coroner's inquiry," said the AGC spokesperson.
