Singapore telcos have announced their 4G/LTE price plans for Apple's new 128GB iPad, which is available today in multiple markets worldwide.
SingTel is offering two price plans for the cellular version: S$819 with 5GB of local bundled data and a monthly subscription of S$29.90, or S$619 with 10GB of data and a monthly fee of S$49.90. The telco also offers the tablet without a contract at the recommended retail price of S$1,218. You can refer to its iPad plans here.
StarHub, too, is charging S$819 for its MaxMobile Elite plan, though this includes 6GB of local data and a S$30 monthly fee. Subscribers can also take up a higher-tier plan, which includes a one-time fee of S$719, and provides 11GB of local data with a monthly fee of S$42. StarHub also has a multi-SIM and a prepaid (no contract) plan, which would require subscribers to fork out S$1,198 for the iPad. Details can be found here.
M1 is offering a S$40 monthly subscription plan (for 8GB of bundled local data), which includes an upfront payment of S$729 for the 128GB iPad. The telco's iPad plans are listed here.
All the telco plans quoted here come with two-year contracts. The cheapest price plan here is SingTel's S$819 option with a S$29.90 monthly fee, which would result in a total cost of S$1,536 over the two-year contract. This is followed closely by StarHub's MaxMobile Elite (6GB) plan. While SingTel's plan provides the least amount of data (5GB), it may be the best option if you're not a heavy user of streaming videos and music, or are able to use Wi-Fi instead.
In Singapore, both the Wi-Fi and Cellular models ship in 1 to 3 business days on the Apple Store. The tablet is priced at S$1,048 for the Wi-Fi model, and S$1,218 for the cellular version.
