SIA, Tiger Airways recognised for inflight meals

The Skyscanner Asia Pacific Airline Food Awards has named Tiger Airways and Singapore Airlines (SIA) with the best food earlier this month.

For the first time, it awarded those in the low-cost, short haul and long haul categories.

While SIA was the top choice for short-haul meals, Garuda Indonesia came a close second. The Indonesia national flag carrier was No. 1 in the long-haul food category.

The panel rated inflight meals based on taste, presentation, choice and, for those assessing budget airlines, they also assessed the value for money.

Tiger Airways beating competitors like Scoot, AirAsia, Jeju Air and Spring Airlines, which made up the rest of the top five ranking in the low-cost category.

Korean Air, Garuda Indonesia and Singapore Airlines were the only airlines to make both the top five of both the short and long haul categories.
